Shearom chung

Dr. Shearom Chung founded Amaris Trio in 2016. She is a talented violist/violinist, recently winning 1st place in the 2013 American International Strings Competition at Carnegie Hall in New York City.  She also won 1st place in the String Division of the Baltimore Music Club Competition in 2006, followed by winning overall in the Catholic University of America Concerto Competition in 2007.

Dr. Chung finished her DMA degree at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC under a full scholarship and was the principle player for the CUA orchestra.  She received her MM and Graduate Performance through a partial scholarship at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.

She completed the National Orchestral Institute program as principle player under a full scholarship in 2007 and 2008. She participated in the Aspen Music Festival with a scholarship in 2006.  In 2005, she played at the Domain Forget Music Festival in Quebec.

Dr. Chung has a broad range of professional experience, playing in a variety of professional orchestras such as the National Philharmonic Orchestra in MD, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra in VA, Cascade Orchestra in Oregon, and Mid-Atlantic Orchestra just to name a few.  She was the principle violist and manager of the Bel Cantanti Opera's Orchestra, also invited from Lancaster Symphony Orchestra in 2016 and Pennsylvania Philharmonic Orchestra 2016-2017 as principle violist.  She is also an active member of the Friday Morning Music Club as a solo and chamber player and member of MTNA.


Ryan ashley Nobles

Ms. Ryan Ashley Nobles graduated with a Master’s in Music in Cello Performance from George Mason University and a Bachelors in Music Performance from the University of Mary Washington.

Ms. Nobles has received music scholarships for both degrees, served as principal cellist of the GMU Symphony Orchestra, was the principal cellist of the University of Mary Washington College-Community Orchestra, and was selected to perform in the George Mason School of Music Honors Recital.

Ns. Nobles performed with the University of Mary Washington College-Community Orchestra as a high school student for their Carnegie Hall performance and has worked with the Canadian Brass, Judy Collins, Marvin Hamlisch, O.A.R., Michael W. Smith, Lexi Walker, GENTRI, Steven Curtis Chapman, Larry Graham, Yolanda Adams, D-Nice, along with many more artists.

Ms. Nobles has also performed with the Rappahannock Pops Orchestra, Piedmont Symphony, Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, Spotswood Community Orchestra, McLean Orchestra, American Festival Pops Orchestra, Bel Cantanti Opera Chamber Orchestra, Soulful Symphony, and Pennsylvania Philharmonic.

Ms. Nobles is the cellist and arranger for the Amaris Trio and currently freelances in the DC-MD-VA area.

Stephanie weng

Mrs. Stephanie Weng (Edwards) is a founding member of the Amaris Trio, and currently freelances throughout the Northern Virginia and DC areas as a solo pianist, accompanist, and collaborative musician. She performs with the Amaris Trio and serves on the worship team at Centerpointe Church in Fairfax, VA.

Mrs. Weng holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from George Mason University, studying under the instruction of Dr. Linda Apple Monson. Some of her graduate performances included Arts by George!, the 2012 Honors Recital, and the highly acclaimed Grand Piano Celebrations. Mrs. Weng has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Evangel University. During her studies at Evangel, she toured the United States and Europe with the Evangel Concert Orchestra and served as pianist for Campbell United Methodist Church. Mrs. Weng also has a Masters in South Asia Studies and International Economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

Mrs. Weng began actively teaching private piano lessons in 2011 and founded Edwards Piano Studio in South Riding, VA. From 2014-2015, Mrs. Weng taught English and music in Islamabad, Pakistan at Bright Angels School, sharing the joys of music in a cross-cultural context.


DR. Janghyo Yoo

Dr. Janghyo Yoo was born in Suwon, South Korea and earned a Bachelor of Music from Suwon University and Kookmin University. He studied Piano Performance with Dr. Ivo Kaltchev, earned a Master degree and Doctoral degree at The Catholic University of America. Throughout his career he has performed in numerous chamber and solo recitals in classical music and his chamber group “Eclat Trio” recently got 1st prize on American Protégé International String Competition. Not only classical pianist, but he is also an accomplished jazz and rock pianist. Dr. Yoo is an active accompanist throughout the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia area in events such as the Youth Orchestra competition and the Music Theater Workshops. He has been playing for 10 years as a pianist for CUA Music Theater as a rehearsal pianist and co-musical assistant director. (Finian’s Rainbow, Drowsy Chaperone, Sweet Charity, Carousal, Most Happy Fella, Pippin, Little Women, City of Angels, Kiss me Kate, etc) Dr. Yoo is currently being as a music director at Messiah Presbyterian Church of Washington and an artistic advisor/collaborative pianist at YMIC (Young Muscians Inspiring Challenge). Also, Dr. Yoo is playing with Alexandria Singers and Amaris Trio as a collaborative pianist.
